Keto Api - Bahagian 2 (The English version follows)
Disambung ko Bahagian 3....jaman ni.
The train, part 2
After secondary school I did not manage to go for further studies. So after doing nothing for a year I got a job with the government. I can only say that it is the only job I held until I retire. If you read my profile you'll know that I am reemployed doing the same job.
To be continued....the present.

Keto Api - Bahagian 1 (The English version follows)
Se ingat lagi keto api mulo-mulo tu kopalo eh itam koso wap. Steam locomotive lah cakap oghang putih. Mulo daghi Tanjung Malim puko sepuloh pagi lobih kughang. Lopeh tu boghonti di tiap-tiap stesen baik kocik baik bosa. Boghonti bukan nak ambik atau nughunkan penompang yo, tapi kopalo keto api tu nak minum air. Keto api wap lah kato kan. Dio kono minum air untuk dijoghang jadi wap untuk tolak piston eh. Joghang pulak guno aghang batu. Lagi pun se muak dio boghonti sumo stesen. Lopeh tu pikap eh lambek pulak tu. Koso wap lah kato kan. Keto api puko limo tu pakai injin disel letrik, maso tu ghono (warna) kopalo eh hijau. Di sobut keto api mel maso tu. Sobab eh yo lah dio bawak sughat (mail) sekali.
The Train - Part One.
I reached Seremban around 4 p.m.. From there I took a bus to Kuala Klawang, Jelebu. On reaching Kuala Klawang around 6 p.m. I realised that the bus to my kampung has retired for the day. Luckily I met my kampung folk named Hamid but called Lamit who operated a pirate taxi service who sent me home. He died years ago. I think that he sympatised with me since he refused any payment from me.
Normally from Tanjung Malim to Kuala Lumpur we hardly manage to get seats because they were already taken by students of fully residential schools based in Kuala Kangsar and Ipoh. I don't have to tell the schools' names because everybody knows them. But being denied seats was no problem to us. We just walked to and fro for the length of the train.
That ended my first part about trains. To be continued....

It all depends on on whose side you are
It is unfortunate as far as I am concerned that the current Euro 2008 football tournament is being played in the ealy hours of the morning. So far I had only watched two live telecasts. Last week it was the group game between Spain and Sweden. This morning it was the quarter final game between Croatia and Turkey.
I had been admiring the Turks since I was involved with them in performing our Haj pilgrimage in Madinah and Makkah. Their discipline really impressed me. So when the Turkish football team qualified for the quarter finals I had a reason to watch them playing. Fortunately their game against the much fancied Croatian team was played in a Saturday moning Malaysian time.
Although the Croats did most of the attacking the Turks defended well considering they were without seven of their regular players. In normal time the game ended scoreless. To decide a winner the game went into extra time. Croatia scored two minutes before full time. Everybody watching, me included thought it was the end for the Turks. But they equalised the next minute which was the last minute. So the game was decided on penalty kicks.
From my experience in watching football I knew that in a situation like this where penalty kicks decide a match the usual winner is the underdog team. The underdog team here is Turkey. True, they won the penalty kicks 3-1. They will meet Germany in the semi-finals.
The first thing I did when I woke up was look for my favourite internet football site. This is what they wrote "So cruel on Croatia". Had Croatia won I think they would write "Hail the Croation heroes" or something like that. They point here is the internet site gives more stress on Croatia's loss instead of Turkey's win. As I said it all depends on whose side you are.
Stupid
- He sent a personal e-mail to anybody.
- He wrote in his personal blog like what I am doing now.
- He sent personal messages thorugh his mobile phone.
- He answered calls by the press on his mobile or home phone.
I think in a move to prevent the PM making further stupid statements that particular party held a meeting the next day and endorsed their president's earlier statement. What a waste of time.

Masjid India Muslim Ulu Temiang, Seremban - Bahagian 2
Jadi jika dilanda banjir sekali lagi tidaklah ketara sangat perubahan wajahnya.

Negeri Sembilan is really unique
- It is the only state in Malaysia having a name starting with Negeri. It is unique in a way because Negeri simply means State. So if we translate the 'State of Negeri Sembilan' to the Malay language it should be called 'Negeri Negeri Sembilan' just like the 'State of Selangor" becomes 'Negeri Selangor'.
- It is the only state in the Malay Peninsula not named after its major river. We have Sungai Johor, Sungai Melaka, Sungai Pahang and so on. But there is no Sungai Negeri Sembilan or Sungai Sembilan.
- Seremban the state capital was formerly called Sungai Ujung. But there is no river called Sungai Ujung in the district or in the whole state. There is also no place called Ujung for that matter. I think that's why they changed the name to Seremban. But to the Chinese Seremban is called Fu Yong.
- Although the state has its own dialect called 'Loghat Negeri Sembilan' just like other states there are places in the state where the people do not talk the dialect. Most of the people in th Port Dickson district talk in the Melaka dialect. A good example is the former Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Utama Isa Samad. Some people even criticed him for being the chief executive of a State without knowing how to talk its dialect. In Jelebu where it borders with the State of Pahang its people talk in the Pahang dialect. Even for that matter the original Jelebu people talk in a sligt diversion of the Negeri Sembilan dialect. But for the record there are pockets of people in the Alor Gajah and Hulu Langat districts in Melaka and Selangor respectively who speak the Negeri Sembilan dialect.
So if Negeri Sembilan is to be given a name like other states it should be called Linggi because Sungai Linggi is our main river.
Now I have my own theory why Seremban was called Sungai Ujung. The town is placed at the end (Ujung) of Sungai Linggi. So it should be called Ujung Sungai. But to make it to be easily understood by the non-Malays the words were reversed to Sungai Ujung which is in fact bad language. Sungai Ujung also rhymes with the Fu Yong which is what the local Chinese refer to Seremban as I mentioned above.

Naik 'Terror ride'
