This morning I attended the morning sermon at my surau. The ustaz's talk touched on marriage. He mentioned about female trainee teachers who are allowed to get married during their training with a condition that they cannot bear children until the training ends.
This reminded me of someone at my place of work in Pasir Puteh, Kelantan many years ago. One of the staff nurses, a Chinese lady was applying to attend a midwifery course which would take a few months. So one day she came to the office and asked the clerical staff to prepare a letter for her. She said "Please prepare a stupid letter for me". So when the chief clerk asked what kind of stupid letter she replied "A letter saying although I am married, I am not pregnant".
